What is Pay-per-click (PPC)?

Written by Cam Wade. Posted in PPC (Pay Per Click)

Pay Per ClickMany people have heard about PPC for years now, but do not fully understand what it really is, or how it can be useful. Pay-per-click (PPC) is a form of online marketing where an ad is hosted on a website, and the business owner pays for each individual click on the advertisement.

In order to use PPC, business owners bid on specific phrases or keywords that their desired audience uses to locate products or services. The PPC ads are typically listed off to the side of the screen when search results display, show up as ‘banner’ ads, or they are seen under the ‘sponsored’ ad sections on the page. These placements allow them to stand out from the standard links on the page.

PPC advertising is very beneficial to business owners. It brings more attention to your website, but since you only have to pay for each click, there are no ‘wasted’ marketing dollars. Many forms of online marketing include paying a mass amount of money to drive an entire group of people directly to your website, many of which are not even interested in your product or service. This is why PPC is so unique. You can have as many PPC advertisements running as you would like. Their locations, cost per click, and results will vary depending on the keyword you are targeting. For example, someone ordering a PPC ad for computers is most likely going to pay more than a PPC ad for manila envelopes.

PPC campaigns benefits are comprehensive:

  • Immediate Search Visibility
  • Reduced Costs
  • Maximum Return on Ad Spent
  • Maximum Depth of Target Keywords
  • Reinforce Branding
  • Remarketing
  • Testing Capabilities
  • Increase Organic Click-Thru-Rates
  • Local to Global Exposure

Pay-per-click advertising is great for small businesses all the way up to corporations. Since there is an ability to set a budget limit, there is no worry about unknowingly exceeding the funds you have available. Even small businesses that have a very limited advertising budget are able to gain an edge over companies with large advertising budgets by utilizing an effective online PPC marketing campaign.

Now that you are completely aware of the full spectrum of advantages that PPC advertising offers businesses of all types and sizes, you should consider hiring a professional online marketing company to head up your PPC advertising.

What is SEO?

Written by Cam Wade. Posted in SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Search Engine OptimizationIf you are new to online marketing, then you probably have no idea what SEO even stands for. So, let’s get you up to speed. When you are seeking something, someplace or someone online, you simply type the search phrase into your favorite search engine, and then pages and pages of results show up. It’s pretty obvious that the first websites listed from the search engine results are the ones that will get the most amount of clicks, increasing their traffic with ease. It is at the top of these rankings that you want your website to show up so that you have the direct traffic that comes with the high position.
SEO, short for Search Engine Optimization, helps your website climb to the top of the search engine results pages using the best keywords throughout the content you have on your website, blog, and even social media posts. Google and the other main search engines have spiders that crawl pages behind the scenes of the web looking for quality keywords, links, and other information to index websites in the appropriate categories.
There is a variety of ways to increase your rankings with search engines, including:
• Cross linking. (You can increase visibility by link building within your own site by using strong keywords and internal links.)
• Blogging. (Include blogs and informative articles that have widely searched keyword phrases applicable to your business or industry.)
• Using a large variety of keyword phrases that attract your target audience in all content efforts, whether in social media or an article database.
• Updating content frequently. (Fresh content shows that your site is active and up to date.)
It is important to only use quality keywords and honest SEO efforts (referred to as the ‘Whitehat’ method) when trying to increase your website ratings. If a search engine finds that you are using deception or the ‘Blackhat’ methods in order to increase your rankings, you will be penalized or eliminated from the rankings without hesitation. Google often does updates to weed out the sites that are outdated, not relevant or using ‘Blackhat’ methods.
SEO is a great and affordable way to increase your website traffic and grow your business. As a business owner, you want to make sure that the SEO campaign you are considering yields a profitable ROI (Return on Investment). Many businesses will hire companies that specialize in SEO to work on verifying that all website content is optimized with the right keywords and expertise to ensure the best results.

Mistakes Ruining SMB’s

Written by Cam Wade. Posted in Internet Marketing

Online MarketingSmall and medium size businesses unfortunately close up shop everyday because of mistakes made that ruined their business and forced the closure of the doors. Reportedly, it is only about a 50% chance that a new business launch will make it to the five year anniversary of their startup date. Learn the three mistakes SMB’s make that can cause detrimental results, so you don’t make the same mistakes.

There are precisely three things that can result in major success in small and medium businesses if correctly performed and applied. For the most optimal results, it is recommended that you consult a professional to help you with your online marketing strategy and online presence. The results gained will keep consumers from walking away in the ‘virtual’ business world. It also is good at helping to direct them to your site versus your competitions’.

1. Website Neglect – If you have been neglecting your website and think that it is not important, you are making a monumental mistake that may lead to the shut down of your business. People are demanding that businesses be Ecommerce friendly now days. Ecommerce is the norm, so if you are not on board with this then it is time to contact an expert to help you get started rebuilding your site right away. With the rise in the demand for technology you can rest assured that the professionals are very helpful in verifying their work is valid and their results are accurate.

2. Knowing Your Customer – Does your business have a client list containing the names of your biggest clients? If not, then it is time to make one to be able to provide your website expert. He or she will be able to help you design your website in the way that is necessary for targeting your ideal market audience instead of just grabbing at straws because the customer has not been researched, and there is no focus. It is important to contact a web design consultant because if you do not know your customer and your website reflects that, then consumers will come to your site with the intention of spending money, and in one simple, quick ‘mouse click,’ they are gone because the site did not please them.

3. Underestimating Your Competition – If your website is basic and does not give the consumer what they are looking for, then they are going to go to your competition. Simple as that. Check out your competition- online and a physical location if possible. Take a gander to see who and what they are, what they are offering, and make sure you check out what they are not offering consumers, so you know where you have more of an advantage. Go to an experienced professional in website design and online marketing to help you get the leg up on your competition.

Online marketing is a very time sensitive advertising tool because the consumer has the ability to immediately, without any hesitation or time lapse, click away from the page that is currently not making them happy. In one click they can be on another website that will give them what they are looking for. Some business owners feel that this is no big loss. They truly believe that the situation boils down to ‘a person here and there’ leaving the site with their money is insignificant. But the reality lies in the fact that the amount of people using the internet is staggering, and the ones that leave definitely add up to more than just a few lost dollars. In conclusion, pay attention to more than just your business. Look at what is going on in your industry, check out the competition, and get someone from Atlanta SEO Hub to help you with your business and online marketing needs.

How Is Twitter Beneficial for my Business or Organization?

Written by Cam Wade. Posted in SMM (Social Media Marketing/Management)

Twitter is by far the fastest and largest growing marketing tool that is available around the globe, plus it is free for any individual or business to use. There are many benefits for businesses to useSocial Media Marketing Twitter, the social media giant that enables all to connect with not only existing customers, but potential ones too. The stats have come in, and astounding to many, more than one million accounts are created on Twitter daily. While many people assumed that the 140 character ‘Tweet’ was doomed to fail because of its short message, they were dead wrong. More powerful and efficient than ever imagined, the tiny message delivery system has gotten more interaction, engagement, and results than ever expected.

Building Name & Brand Awareness
Twitter is so fast and easy to get set up and get going, that any person or business can be sending out ‘Tweets’ within just a couple of minutes. Remember that your Tweet must be 140 characters or less, including spaces. For professional reasons, you should not resort to teenage slang, such as OMG or LOL, unless they are being used for creative impact. The more you use Twitter and grow your followers and fan base, the more your brand name and brand awareness will grow. This is the goal many businesses want to reach; for their name or brand to be mentioned and others automatically know who or what they are referring to.
Product and Service Promotion

Once you are able to get your followers up in the numbers on Twitter, you should take full advantage of the social media marketing platform you have at your disposal to share and release vital information and promotions on the services and products you are offering. Doing so will not only raise interest among followers, but will get people talking about your products and services as their curiosity is peaked. Using Twitter for promotional reasons will give business owners the capability to increase profits if they are able to close the deal.

Raise Support or Awareness

If you need to build up a lot of followers fast, then Twitter is going to be the best choice for your social media platform. You can take any cause, organizational need, fundraiser, or promotion and immediately begin to increase the awareness about it. Be diligent and frequent with your posts, making sure to correspond with friends, followers, consumers, and clients any important news or pertinent messages. Getting your followers to ‘Retweet’ will be very successful and the quickest in spreading the word to raise awareness or support for your cause or other need.

You Need a Better Website Ranking. You Need SEO.

Written by Cam Wade. Posted in SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

SEO is the missing pieceWhen is the last time you contacted some search engine marketing professionals? Well, that could explain why your website is not doing quite as well as you would have liked. Unfortunately, some people think that all they need to do is post their website live and then just wait for the people to start pouring in. But it does not work that way. Gaining traffic and business online is a very active procedure, and should be taken very seriously.

  • SEO Companies
One of the best ways to make sure that your site gets the attention that it deserves is to hire the search engine marketing professionals. They know exactly what to do in order to make your site perfectly suited for being found.

While the ultimate goal is to be found and see an increase in traffic and business, it is how this is achieved that is the big key in this process. When it comes to Search Engine Optimization, the trick is ranking as highly as possible on the search engine results page. The higher you are, the more people will see you, and the more likely you are to be clicked. There are even numbers to back it.

Over 80% of people start each of their internet experiences with a search. Every single time. And an additional 80% of people will only click on the top five organic results that come up when they do a search. If your site is not coming up in those top five, your chances of being chosen are less than 20%.

  • Search Engine Optimization Services
Those search engine marketing professionals can make sure that your site ranks highly through a variety of techniques. They start by tweaking your website, making sure that it is aesthetically pleasing, easily navigable, and has all of the pertinent information on there.

Then they tie your website in with the keywords that you want to be known and searched for. They help you to create content, like a relevant and regularly updated blog. And help you to become noticed by other blogs and businesses. In doing so, they will reference you independently, which can greatly help your rankings.

  • ROI Through SEO
For all of the time and effort put in by the SEO team, the amount of money that you pay for the services pales in comparison. This makes the ROI of SEO incredibly high. Not to mention the amount of money that you can see after all of the business starts pouring in with that successful SEO campaign.

SEO just may be that missing piece of the puzzle that you could not find. It could be just the process that you need in order to get your business found on the internet. With an effective SEO campaign working, it may make all the difference in the world. What have you got to lose? Contact an SEO team today. You have only business to gain.

Get Others Talking About Your Business

Written by Cam Wade. Posted in SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

A blog is a discussion or informational site published to the web. Blogging is a great way to get customers / audience involved in your company and to get people talking about your company. It is a way to publish content and to receive feedback. If you are not blogging, then you have no say so in what is being said about you. If bad things are being said about you or your business, then you have no way to turn those comments around into positive feedback if you are not actively blogging. Just as much as a blog can help your business, it can also hurt you. If you don’t have time for it, then don’t start one in the first place. There is nothing worse then your customers seeing that the last time you updated your blog was six months ago or a year ago, etc.

To start your blog, you want to select a layout. There are a few different layouts to choose from but make sure you don’t have too much going on at one time. Unless you have tons of great info to put in, you may want to stay away from, say a three column layout. This would require a lot of information to incorporate. Just like your main site, you would want a “call to action” before the fold of your blog. By this, I mean, you would want a contact form (maybe in the sidebar somewhere) and a way for your audience to subscribe to your blog. You will also want to have a blogroll. This would be a list of other sites that would have related information including your main site if you have one. You don’t want to just send people to other sites though; actually send them to the page in that site or blog that relates to your blog so that it flows and your readers are not pushed away.

Try posting more blogs to add more content to your website. The search engines love to see new content each time they return to your site. This will keep them coming back and continuing to crawl your page. Most importantly though, remember to write for the users. Write about things that are interesting or at least make the things you are blogging about interesting or worth reading. This will get people talking and commenting about your blog which is the goal you want to achieve.

Happy Blogging!
